Speaking of folks who know their way around a golf course, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is hitting its 25th lap, and the guest list is making my eyebrows do a jig. It’s hard to see him without picturing him in Caddyshack, playing the role of a greenkeeper so perfectly it’s practically a documentary.
He’ll be joined by Kathryn Newton, who apparently traded her golf clubs for a Hollywood script before she could really make a name for herself on the amateur circuit. With rounds spread across the legendary links of St. Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns, this thing is shaping up to be a proper bash. Honestly, if they could somehow get our local greenkeeper a tee time in that pro-am, that would be a victory worth celebrating.
